While no website can guarantee total security, we maintain appropriate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information collected via the website. We restrict access to your information by unauthorized persons. Inside Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary (SSM), data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access.
Information that may be collected automatically
We use analytics services by third parties (e.g. Google) to collect information about the use of our site, such as number of visits, pages visited and the popularity of particular content. When you visit our website, the analytics services may receive and collect information such as your IP address, referral URL, exit URL, browser software, operating system, date/time and/or clickstream data. They may collect information such as what pages you visit and how much time you spend on these pages. From these analytics services, we generally only see reports giving us subtotals and averages, not information about individuals.
When we may receive personally identifiable data
We have access to personal information that you voluntarily give us via email and web forms including but not limited to donations, registrations, sign up forms or other direct contact from you. We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not sell or share your information with any third party, other than as necessary to fulfill your request. For example, if you click our donations button, you will be redirected to PayPal who will receive your personal information to fulfill your donation.
Opt-out or change your contact information
While we do not offer a regular email newsletter, we may contact you from time to time regarding upcoming events that may interest you based upon your previous communications with us. These emails come from one of our sisters and not a “machine.” If you wish to stop receiving these communications, you may simply respond to the email and the sister will remove you from her list.
You have the right at any time to review your personal data for accuracy, update it or ask us to delete it. You may do this by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will not share your personal information with anyone except where it might be required by law.
Questions, concerns, complaints, or compliments
If you need more information, you can contact us to request any of the following to:
- confirm whether or not personal data about you is being processed;
- provide you with further details about how we process your personal data;
- provide you with a copy of any data which we hold about you;
- withdraw your consent to using your personal information, where we rely on your consent as a legal basis to justify using your personal data;
- consider any valid objection to the processing of your personal information (including the right to object to processing on grounds related to your particular situation where we are relying on our legitimate interests as a legal basis for processing);
- request to update or delete personal data which we hold about you;
- restrict the way that we process your personal data;
- consider any valid request to transfer your personal data to a third party provider of services (data portability)
We will review all requests. Certain personal information may be exempt from requests under some circumstances, which include a need to keep processing information to comply with a legal obligation. If such an exception applies, we will notify you when responding to your request. Please note that we may ask you to provide us with information necessary to confirm your identity before responding.
