This year on Sunday, January 2nd, the feast of the Epiphany, children and their families were invited to participate in “10 minutes at the Crib” at our International Schoenstatt Retreat Center.
The children arrived shortly before 2:00 pm, and several sisters and volunteers helped them to pick out their costumes for the Christmas pageant – soon we had a full living nativity scene with Mary and Joseph, several angels and shepherds, a cow, and the three kings. As the children got ready, parents were invited to sing Christmas carols with a small choir in our Father Kentenich Hall.
Around 2:30 pm, the children processed into the hall and arranged themselves on the stage, as two of the children read the narration of the Birth of Christ. In between, fitting Christmas songs were sung, and the children waved handheld stars in time to the music.
When the presentation was over, all were invited for cookies and juice in the retreat center dining rooms! We are very grateful for all of the volunteers, children, and families who joined us for this special event!
